Since Riverside's founding in 2013, our founders have been committed to ensuring their business would be a force for good in this world. After becoming a certified B Corp in 2017, this belief has only grown stronger, and we are grateful to B Lab Global for providing guidance on how to continue to do better each step along our journey.
With our first certification achieved in 2017, Riverside has since completed two recertifications, in both 2021 & 2024. Each assessment was an opportunity to increase our transparency and remain accountable to our public commitments of purpose, while learning how we can improve our business practices across our operations. In addition to referencing the standards as best practices for businesses in the 21st century, engagement within the B Corp community has provided us with opportunities to establish long-lasting and meaningful partnerships, discovering a true sense of community.
In 2026, We now find ourselves at the forefront of the B Corp community, certifying to the new V2.1 standards in 2026 as North America's first Large Manufacturer business. We made the decision to go forward with this certification 2 years ahead of schedule to support our European Union business and remain compliant with the Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition legislation. As the European Union continues to set the bar for progressive policy in the western world, our EU operations provide us with a unique opportunity to ensure as we scale in North America, we are adopting global best practices from day one. We hope our achievement of latest V2.1 standards will inspire other businesses to do the same and continue finding ways to be forces for good in their own unique contexts.
