During the COVID-19 pandemic, SickKids has continued to provide world-class care to every kid who needs it. But the ‘new normal’ comes with new demands. Take Nurse Katherine for instance. With only a single caregiver allowed in the room, nurses are still encouraging parents to take a break while they stay and comfort the child. It’s a little thing. But it’s huge. With the support of sponsors, like MadeGood, SickKids will be better able to thank these incredible frontline workers, like Katherine, who continue to go above and beyond for patients. Riverside is very happy to support the dedication and kindness of nurses at Sick Kids. One thing that COVID has taught us all, is that our front line workers have often been taken for granted and overlooked when it comes to recognition. While supporting Nurses Week is a small token of our appreciation, we hope that nurses take it as an acknowledgement of their determination to continue to provide the best care possible every day to our smallest, and most vulnerable citizens.
Riverside has used employee product sales to raise money to donate to Sick Kids for the past 5 years and we are very grateful to be able to continue to support the great work done everyday at Sick Kids.
This year, Riverside has donated over 12,000 MadeGood products across the province of Ontario: Sick Kids, Sunnybrook, the Trillium Health Partners foundation, Mississauga Hospital, Credit Valley Hospital, and Queensway Health Centre. While supporting Nurses Week is a small token of our appreciation, we hope that nurses take it as recognition of their ongoing daily commitment to care for all of us.
